Translating the Trends for Spring 2018: A Whole CRAYOLA BOX of COLORS

Posted on March 15, 2018

After a brief side trip into Oscars red carpetry, we’re back to show you the hottest runway trends of spring 2018 along with a Lorenzo-curated list of options to update and freshen your wardrobe. A couple weeks back, Lo went on happy trip through the land of LAVENDER and filled his virtual shopping cart with spring-scented style choices. This week, we’re looking at THE major color trend of the spring 2018 runways; a trend that isn’t about one color at all, but a range of them; specifically, the bold, simple, childlike rainbow of colors found in a basic box of crayons:

3.1. Phillip Lim | Aalto | Badgley Mischka | Balenciaga | Calvin Klein
Carolina Herrera | Christian Siriano | Delpozo | Elie Saab | Givenchy
Gucci | Isabel Marant | Jasper Conran | Jeremy Scott | Marc Jacobs
MSGM | Rochas | Roksanda | Sachin & Babi | Salvatore Ferragamo
Tom Ford | Valentino | Versace | Victoria Beckham | Zero + Maria Cornejo

Subtle hues are not what we’re about today. Demure pastels and noncommital neutrals will need to take a seat for now. Because as you can see by the runway shots above, it’s all about those bold, bright, brilliant hues this season. And while practically anyone with a season wardrobe has some color in their closet palette, sometimes it’s a fun to freshen things up with some bright pops here and there.

To that end, Lorenzo put on his shades and went shopping in the BRIGHT and BOLD aisles of his little imaginary boutique. TASTE THE RAINBOW…

Just putting this compilation of items together has had Lorenzo in a good mood for the last day. Just think what a couple bright and boldly colored pieces can do to a look or a mood. To that end, Lo really went hard on the accessories side of things this time as a way of brightening up whatever pieces you might already have that need some brightening. But there are also plenty of crayon-hued tops, dresses and separates to paw through as well. Lo’s faves? As always, none of them would be here if he didn’t love them on some level, but he’s living for the bold blue Escada dress, the bright green Mary Katrantzou skirt, the plainly pretty ELOQUII dresses with their simple shapes and bright colors, the blue Kors bags and wallets, the pink Vans, and the multi-colored earrings from BaubleBar.

As always, Lo makes selections in a wide price range, so if you click on something that’s way of yours, there will always be something else well within it on the list.

So, which crayons are your favorites?
