It feels like we’ve been complaining about Miss Katy’s style fairly consistently in the last year or two. Nothing she was trying really landed, as far as we could see. And while we’re not going to go out on a limb to suggest she’s on some sort of style renaissance (but a network TV show job might have helped light a fire under her), but these are two fairly good looks that don’t give us much to complain about. Maybe she’s a Versace girl.
Pronounced “Versayce,” of course.

That’s the best her hair and makeup have looked in ages. Again: new hosting job could mean a new team doing her up, for all we know. We wish the dress provided a little more contrast for her, but the touches of purple/blue throughout are what really make it. Not a complicated dress or even a trendy one, but just right for the where, when and who of the matter.

Okay, so it kind of loses us when we get to the pants, but that coatdress looks surprisingly great on her. We wouldn’t have thought she could work that shade of yellow as well as she is.
The problem is that we can’t come up with a pair of pants for this that doesn’t immediately bring it down. The obvious choice of black pants turn it into “just” a bright yellow coat. Maybe the goofy-ass pants are meant to be, darlings.
