Miss Girl, we were right there, cheering this fun little pop of mod glamour along,
until we got to the shoes.
First, because we’re really struggling with this trend for fairly tacky-looking gold metallic sandals lately. We’re all for a little tacky-glam, but so many of the high-end ones on the red carpet look so cheap to our eyes. But the real issue here is the fact that the golds don’t match. Maybe we’re the weird ones here, but we tend to think mismatched metallics – especially golds – are so glaring that they tend to bring any look down.
Still, she’s broken out of her black/white/pink mold for something a little more fun and eye-catching than her usual goofy choices. Despite the mismatch issue, we’re hoping this look signals a more adventurous, more glam turn tonight.
We love this dress, in case it wasn’t clear. And we think the head-styling is really pretty. She always did have a fairly strong earring game, no matter what other style choices she makes.
