Let’s just state this upfront so there’s no confusion on the matter: Yes, he looks like a chorus boy in a musical about auto mechanics. So stipulated.
If he broke into a rendition of “Greased Lightning” right here and right now, it would not seem out of place. True enough. But call us crazy if you must, we think it’s a pretty cute outfit all around. Obviously it’s not for every guy, and we’re not even convinced he’s one of those guys who’s right for it (a little too whitebread in looks and demeanor, we think), but it’s so rare to see casual red carpet menswear that’s not boring or sloppily rendered. It’s even rarer for us to use the following word to describe any menswear look: it’s fresh. And he’s young enough and new enough on the red carpet scene (as a player), that we tend to think it really works for him, white kicks and all.
