But that dress is a rug.
With… ghostly, semi-abstract bees on it…?
And yet, if you heard Miss Frances manic, nervous giggle as the endorphins clearly kicked in…

What we’re saying is, it’s not Academy Awards style; not really. And it’s fairly goofy and definitely un-photogenic, with a muddy print in a hard-to-work color scheme. But it feels like something she picked out for herself, possibly because it’s comfortable, possibly because it provides her coverage, possibly because the goofiness and off-kilter qualities were what appealed to her most of all. She had herself a capital-M Moment, with the accompanying emotional rush. Knowing this Moment was coming, and knowing what it feels like to go through that Moment, this is what she chose for herself. It’s fully her. It’s not to our tastes at all, but we honestly can’t criticize it as her choice.
