Krysten Ritter Understands How to Bring Drama to the Red Carpet

“Krysten Ritter at The Paley Center For Media Presents: An Evening With Jessica Jones.”

Krysten’s got two major weapons in her red carpet arsenal, so to speak. The first is her own face and coloring, which are highly photogenic and lend themselves to a very specific set of styles and colors; styles and colors she then leans into and utilizes. The second is a sort of Old-Hollywood form of high drama; a boldness and simplicity that can make for a great image under the right lighting.

To wit:

That’s a super-strong look that comes off great in pictures. But describe it: a plain black cloth coat, a red party dress, black pumps and a ponytail. It works because a red-and-black combo is her best color story, because a simple hairstyle really plays up her features, and because that little red party dress is actually really cute and has some fun details, like a collar that – here’s that phrase again – plays up her face. She’s appropriately framed and set off by the best colors for her, while looking cute, sexy and stylish. Well done all around.
