Darlings, a bunch of stars came out to support director Stanley Tucci at the screening of his film. What was slightly notable about the occasion was the number of celebrity couples in attendance. Maybe they all got a Groupon deal or something.
The other notable thing? How they interpreted the dress code for the evening.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
It’s perhaps no surprise that these two showed up the most dressed-up. He looks like he just left the office and she looks like she spent the day learning how to sew.
What can we say? It’s another goofy frock from Miss Blake’s corner. The seaming and the hem are eyelid-twitch-inducing for us. The shoes feel like they belong with another outfit.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski
These two took a slightly more casual approach, which suits them well. Miss Emily can work a fierce, high-fashion look, but it’s kind of refreshing to see her so laid back. We figure there should be a rule about goofy cuffs, though. You can have them on your arms or your legs, but not both at the same time.
He’s a little dull, style-wise.
Laura Prepon and Ben Foster
And then there’s these two, who clearly didn’t feel like dressing up at all. Not that we would have expected them to. Neither are the types who love walking a red carpet and this is a screening at the Guggenheim, so they’d have good reason to assume a more casual approach. They’re clearly not being styled here, so we’ll leave them to it, although they get props for being the most accurate version of a what an average couple looks like on movie night.
