With awards season and the Call Me By Your Name hoopla behind him, Armie’s never-ending poledance continues apace:
Oof. Bless his heart, he’s kind of a mess here. We do appreciate his love of color and pattern, though. And we also understand that he’s somewhat gigantic, making any slim cut suit appear just a bit snug on him, while any more conventional, fuller cut would likely render him brick-shaped. But he sometimes lapses into that innately prepster sort of look that always looks terrible on a red carpet, e.g. a bright plaid suit paired with a polo shirt. Wear that shit to brunch at the country club, Armie. It just looks goofy in pictures, next to someone in a semi-formal dress.
She’s doing alright. It’s the “dutiful wife” look done well. She’s not competing with his sense of pattern and color and she knows she can’t pull of anything too trendy while he’s sporting his Preppy Clown drag, so she went for a simple design with a flattering and interesting silhouette but nothing too flashy or focus-pulling. Still, a couple inches off the hem and a fresher shoe would not be unwelcome.
This looks interesting enough – mainly because of the cast – but it seems to us that Armie really needs to stop playing these charming objects of beauty. He’ll find it much harder to transition away from these types of roles if he spends too long in them.
