Taking a break from all these Oscar nominees to check in on a king and a general with nothing but time on their hands, smiles on their faces, a runway worldwide hit, and of course …
Danai Gurira in Rodarte
There’s a lot to love here, but that’s because there’s a lot here, period. We’ll start with the one thing that needs to go: the shoes. They’re really interesting, and we think we’d love them with the right pair of tailored pants, but there’s simply too much “design” to pair them with fussy and tricky Rodarte pieces. Gold pumps or sandals would’ve been our choice – although the trend for those has not been to our liking lately.
Other than that, we don’t think there’s much to critique here. Yes, the blouse and pants are super-fussy and overdone in that Rodarte way. But this represents a lovely change of pace from her armored-up Afro-futurist-themed Black Panther red carpetry. The color combo looks great on her and those earrings are our favorite thing about the whole look. Just switch out the shoes and we’re good.
Chadwick Boseman in Burberry
Not one thing wrong here. He has quickly established himself as the celebrity male with the absolute best, most stylish and most adventurous sense of formal menswear. His jackets are becoming legendary.
