Twee and scones, darlings!
Daisy Ridley in Teresa Helbig
Is it us or is this kind of bad? Even though the idea can get a little precious if it’s overdone, we like when she wears daisy-themed ensembles. But this dress is kind of stiff and the last thing it needed was a black lapel. The helmet hair and winged eye just aren’t very fresh or youthful. The whole thing has a “drag Margaret Thatcher” feel to it, which is just a terrible thing to say about anyone.
He looks like a slightly grumpy middle school teacher, which is just about his style sweet spot, we’re thinking. Sure, he could’ve picked an outfit with a little more color or texture to it. We certainly don’t think tweeds and sweaters are out of the question. But this is no-nonsense style that suits him. Still, a tie is not too much to ask for here, let alone a belt.
Elizabeth Debicki in Bottega Veneta
Miss Elizabeth is here to rescue this produce aisle of a red carpet and bring a little haute fashion to the proceedings, as we’ve come to expect from her. LOVE the colors she’s working here. They’re unusual for a red carpet, but take a great picture in combination. We can’t say we’re feeling the pattern-mixing a hundred percent, but we enjoy the slight visual fireworks on a red carpet that needed a little bit of that. If nothing else, that’s a stunner of a coat.
