Mrs. Cathy looks so pretty here that we’re practically BURSTING to make some sort of back-handed compliment!
Which is this: She looks amazing in any jewel tone. It’s a shame she limits herself so much in her color choices. Of course she wears purples and reds somewhat often, and blues all the time, but she really should work greens into the rotation more. She looks lovely. We’re not sure we love the shape of her do, but we love that she actually has a do to show off. The whole look has a military officer’s wife feel to it, which is, of course, entirely 100% appropriate and on point.
We think more and more, especially once her sister-in-law is fully in the fold, people are going to start noting just how mature-for-her-age Kate’s style has become in recent years. This is not a criticism on our parts. It’s entirely appropriate, as we said. But we think Meghan has a few more years of dressing a little more flashily before the weight of her role settles in on her, which means Kate’s going to be held up as the matronly one in comparison. On the other hand, if it means people ease up on comparing her to Diana with every outfit she wears, it might be a bit of a relief to her to be seen as the stodgy, Elizabeth-like figure she’s always tried to be. Let Meghan bear the Diana mantle. She’s more suited to it anyway.
