That is a woman dressed not only to pick up her trophy, but to pick up ALL of the trophies. The trick to Oscar-nominee dressing is to dress like a winner and Miss Allison has NAILED it. The Film Independent Spirit Awards (typically always held the night before the Oscars) is a night for some free-wheeling fun on the part of the nominees and a chance to wear something bolder than they probably will the next night.
Even so, we couldn’t have predicted this. More accurately, we predicted something close to the opposite. We did an examination of all her awards season gowns up until this week and predicted that, based on her own preferences, there were “no pink or yellow ballgowns” in her future. Well, it’s not a ball gown and it’s very much in line with her preference for sleek drama, but the color is a pleasant surprise. The pops of green in the jewelry are also great fun. It’s anyone’s guess what she’ll wear tonight, but this may be her last hurrah of boldness and fun before the seriousness of showing up as an Oscar Nominee.
