Like her co-stars, Miss Elizabeth saw the promotion of this film as an opportunity to get a jump on the hottest styles of spring 2018. Perhaps unsurprisingly, if you’re at all familiar with her promo style (think “budding Cate Blanchett”), she made choices both classically chic and envelope-pushing.

We can see how some might see this as a bit dull or consider the colors a bit too muddy for spring. It certainly didn’t help that she wound up the exact color of all the greenery around her. But we think that grass-green with a navy blue accent is elegant and has a certain restrained feel to it. Love the color of the shoes too, but we’re not convinced they’re right with the dress. Your eye goes straight to them. We might’ve rec’d something with a bit more modernity and pop to it; like a metallic sandal.

Okay, yes. She looks like she got tangled up in that orange plastic netting you see at construction sites. So stipulated. Of course, now that we’ve mentioned it, you’re going to find it impossible to see this frock any other way, but we’re going to try to defend it.
We kind of love this, to be honest. It’s a little on the cray side, but considering how the other stars of this film keep stepping out looking like Easter baskets, it’s refreshing to see a little high-style on this green carpet. She’s a couture carrot. How is that not perfect for promoting this film?
We don’t love the silver embellishments, which are unnecessary and also very, very Gucci. We’re pretending not to see the tassles.
See how a metallic shoe makes a springtime color story pop a little?
