In the manner of the truly delusional, we would like to take partial credit for Miss Millie’s team making a welcome turn toward a youthful softness in her style, away from the hard-edged, New York, Vogue-cover chicness people kept imposing on her. We know all our bitching about this in the last year had nothing whatsoever to do with the choice to wear this pretty dress, but we like to take our moments where we can get them, even if we have to write our own fanfiction to do it.

Joking aside, she really does look great here. It’s pretty and chic and gives her the grownup feeling we imagine she wants for herself, but it keeps itself in the realm of the softly romantic and lightly whimsical, which is just right for her.
