Friday Leftovers for the Week of February 11th, 2018

Posted on February 16, 2018

Kittens, this New York Fashion Week kicked our asses more than usual. Help us put it all to bed so we can get on with the important work of doing nothing for the next twelve hours.

Ready, set, judge:

Anya Taylor-Joy in Gucci

It’s got kind of a Mod Witch vibe about it, which makes it perfect for her, we suppose.

Christina Ricci in Marc Jacobs

To be perfectly blunt, everything about this look ages her a good 15 years.

Eleanor Tomlinson

This dress would look much prettier if it didn’t match her skin tone. And we’d like the shoes more if we couldn’t see her toes in them.

Jennifer Jason

Her clear and obvious disdain for the red carpet will never not be hilarious to us. Or maybe she’s just annoyed with those awful shoes.

Katie Holmes in Ralph Lauren

The jacket and coordinating pumps are great, but we feel like they’d both have more impacts if her outfit provided a bit more contrast. Black pants, we’re thinking.

Katie Holmes in Zimmermann

It’s an okay look made better simply because it’s outside her wheelhouse. We’re not sure if the Laura Ingalls Wilder look is really for her, but it’s nice to see her trying something different.

La La Anthony in Michael Kors Collection

Sure. Okay.

Naomi Watts in Zadig & Voltaire

We realize the competing whites are deliberate, and we’re kind of sure that it was the right way to go, because she’d look like a snowman otherwise, but we’re not sure this is working for us. The pure white blouse with the cream suit: yes. The white boots in addition to that? Not so much.

Natalia Dyer in Zadig & Voltaire

She’s young enough to pull it off, but just barely.

Patricia Clarkson in Christian Siriano

Can’t argue with that. And she clearly loves it.

Rachel Brosnahan in Ralph Lauren

This has been a very gray kind of week on the red carpet. It’s a pretty sharp look, though.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Ralph Lauren

That’s hot.

Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer

Constance looks great but Shiri, girl. The sheer skirt is a no.

Thomas Brodie-Sangster

Big no on the shirt color with a standard black tux.

Whoopi Goldberg

She is who she is. After the Christian Siriano show ended, long after every other celebrity exited the venue, she was still sitting in the front row, holding court and generally shooting the shit with whoever had a question to ask or a picture to take. Totally Whoopi.

Zosia Mamet in Monse

That feeling when the Black Panther cast shows up on the red carpet and you’re standing there in your sweater.

And with that we say Ciao, darlings! But keep your eyes peeled for reviews on Star Trek: Discovery and Black Panther in the next few days!
