Mrs. Cathy continues to … we were going to say “dazzle” with her wardrobe choices, but that seems almost like a disservice to her. The fact remains that her style isn’t meant to be dazzling at all. At its best, it’s meant to be elegant, stately, and above all else, appropriate.
It’s just that when she manages all that AND still gives the fashion press something to talk about, we all go a little over the top in our praise.
Cathy Cambridge in Sweden in Alexander McQueen
Very cute and sophisticated. These are the oxblood accessories that we weren’t sure if they went with her red houndstooth coat, but they work perfectly fine here without any competing colors.
Cathy Cambridge in Sweden in Erdem
This is the dress that got everyone excited. An Erdem floral isn’t any new shocking thing for her (although she doesn’t go to them often enough, in our opinion), nor is a blue dress, of which she’s worn approximately 300,000 in the last year (estimate may be exagerrated). But the heavy velvet? That’s a bit of a step outside the zone for her. We wouldn’t think a pregnant woman would want the hassle of trying to make such a heavy, potentially shapeless dress look good, but she’s making it look effortless. We love the bell sleeves, which is definitely something she doesn’t do often, but the ruffle on the skirt could go.
Cathy Cambrige Arrives in Norway in Catherine Walker
More Cathy Scandinavian Adventure Doll realness. It’s a gorgeous coat in her signature color and as we said yesterday, girlfriend can work a Dr. Zhivago hat. But are our eyes going, or is she wearing a brown hat and brown boots with a black bag and gloves? We’re not huge sticklers for accessories needing to match, but that seems a little off to us.
