Cardi B Serves up Supreme Realness at the Marc Jacobs Fashion Show

Posted on February 15, 2018

Whoever it was at Marc Jacobs headquarters who dreamed up the idea of putting Miss Cardi in a dead-perfect “Diana Ross circa 1967” costume deserves a raise.

We don’t love the sash and the more we look at it, the more we find the color story kind of awful, but as an overall look – especially for this particular venue – it can’t be beat. It plays into her fun, Fuck-You Glam style and personality. And it really does look great on her. We just wish it had all been rendered in jewel tones.

Take a look at the runway styling, by the way. It takes an eye and a real sense of style to look at that ensemble and pair it with this wearer in this way. Very few people would look at that and think “A ’60s beehive and cateye shades is exactly what this needs.”
