Yara Shahidi Gets a Hand (or Two) in Schiaparelli Couture at Marie Claire’s Image Makers Awards

Miss Yara, making the whimsy work for her:

We love this look, partially because Lorenzo worships the Schiaparelli aesthetic (which this frock embodies fairly well), and partially because she’s got the knack, the looks and the fashion chops to make it work. Not that this is a hard garment to wear, particularly, but most people would think twice before sporting a dress with hands all over it. But it tends to come off fun and whimsical rather than creepy. What can we say? It simply suits the hell out of her. Our only real quibble is with the sandals, but that’s because we ALWAYS find such flimsy footwear to be disappointing choice. We’re not big on replicating runway looks, but those blue boots really do take the look somewhere fierce.
