Style File: Diane Kruger Sticks to a Theme in Valentino and Armani Privé

Posted on January 25, 2018

As awards ceremonies seem to be erupting among the celebrity set roughly every 36 hours or so, Miss Diane quietly does the film festival/fashion show beat –  in somewhat unquiet ensembles.

If there’s one word – aside from “cray” – that sums up her style preferences, it’s “overdone.” Someone spent way too much time overthinking that bodice and when they couldn’t narrow down the design choices to anything less than three options, they simply went with all of them. The skirt is pretty. And we give her credit once again for choosing something interesting and unique. But everything from her neck to her waist needs a serious rethink.

Her theme of the moment seems to be “weird bodices, pretty textiles.” Once again, the skirt is lovely, but the shape of the bust, and worse, the sheer side panels, overwhelm the look with their clumsiness and impracticality. She’s utterly consistent; we’ll give her that.
