Miss Caitriona unveiled her somewhat massive engagement ring on this red carpet, and judging by our social media feeds, that one item was the only thing her fans gave a shit about.
Which is good, because that dress definitely needs some focus taken away from it.
She’s got some legit modeling skills, which is why this doesn’t look somewhat disastrous on her, but it sure is one overdesigned and uncomfortable-looking frock. Those straps look like torture devices. We find it impossible to believe they didn’t leave angry red marks by the end of the night. Even if they didn’t, the fact that they look like they did is an argument against them as an element.
Kudos to her for her commitment to fierceness. Maybe she loved this dress at first sight, but we don’t think it loves her back. We normally call looks like this For Models Only, but considering she was one herself, we’ll amend that and declare it Runway-Only. You’ve got 15 seconds to sashay that thing to a beat and duck behind the scrim. That’s about the only time it works.
