This flick isn’t exactly wowing the critics (which we could have predicted), but Miss Z is going to commit to that poledance no matter what the haters say. Although it’s kind of hard to look at a gown like this and not think it comes off a little bit like an over-the-top response to the lukewarm reviews:
Whatever the reasons for choosing it, it’s High Drag and we can’t ever be anything but totally here for that.
Sure, it looks a little cheap and cheesy, but then again, so does the very best drag. You can use the red carpet to make subtle and chic statements about yourself and your work, but Zendaya understands that its primary purpose is as a word-free, symbol-heavy marketing tool. You wanna be a big ol’ butterfly? Go right ahead, girl. Sell that shit. It’s not chic, but it’s loud and fun.
