Zendaya in Chloé
We’re gonna move this entry over to the “We Respect the Choice, but Girl, This is Hiddy” column. It happens; especially when you plan out five high-fashion outfits in one day. We think most of the various elements could be broken up and used to make better looks. Yes, even those boots. They’re insane, but they’re fun.
And speaking of fun…
Zendaya in Mary Katrantzou
As we noted with the Viktor & Rolf gown she wore to The Greatest Showman‘s premiere, there’s a real sense of Big Top whimsy coming through in her style choices. We’ll call it Circus Chic. And we’ll say that we love it. Yes, it’s silly and the colors are eye-searing, but how can that be anything other than the entire point of a look like this? She’s young. It’s fun. It’s fabulous.
Zendaya in Stella Jean
We love this too. The blouse is interesting (and probably the only thing that’ll work with a waist set that high), but it’s the skirt that really draws the eyes. The colors and proportions are gorgeous.
Zendaya in Giuseppe di Morabito
We should be calling this tacky, but we can’t help it, darlings. We love it. It helps that the golds all seem to match fairly well and that there’s some textural interest in the various pieces. In real-world terms an all-gold metallic ensemble might be a bit much to handle, but it’s perfect for the insular and rarefied world of the movie star on a press junket. She looks every inch the part.
Zendaya in Marni
Girlfriend is just crushing it on the outerwear front. Those boots aren’t anything to sneeze at either. Assuming you had some sort of plan to sneeze at them. Or something. We never did get what that phrase was all about.
And finally, at the end of a long day, a lady star just wants to put on a simple but cute gown, with perhaps some sort of furry thing up near her face, because that’s always fun, and play party games in front of an audience of millions:
