Let’s wrap this highly judgmental (although no more so than usual for us) week with … FINAL JUDGMENTS!
GLADIATORS, ENTER THE ARENA.
Alicia Vikander in Jonathan Simkhai
We’re so over all the various trendy forms of pink this season. This is okay, we guess, but the color’s off-putting and the bottom of the skirt is a bit overdone.
Love the hair. The dress is great, although we question the color.
You’re never fully dressed without a smile, Andrew.
Bryce Dallas Howard
The heavy skirt with the sheer top, the overabundance of vertical lines, and the heavy sandals – all of this adds up to a world of NO.
Whereas this is a full-on YES.
Demi Lovato in Diane von Furstenberg
She’s been having some style struggles of late, but this is pretty great. Maybe that top’s a bit too shiny, though.
The pants are a bit long and we’d have liked to have seen a contrasting tie.
Elizabeth Olsen in Virgil Abloh
That slit seems to come out of nowhere.
Elle Fanning in Miu Miu
It does nothing for you, dear.
Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani
That suit looks better on Kumail than it did on Nick Jonas, which may not exactly be the best compliment in the world, but you’ve gotta take them where you can get them. Needs a tie and an undershirt, though. Cute dress. We wish the hem and the lining stopped at the same point.
Gabrielle Union in Tome
LOVE this. The tiny cropped jacket may be a bit too small from a proportions standpoint, but the look is solid and cute.
Like-not-love this. We don’t love the color story. Having said that, a pair of navy blue pumps would’ve done a lot.
Cute, but the sock and loafers are questionable.
Laverne Cox and Tituss Burgess
Miss Laverne’s doing alright. Titus, jacket chains shouldn’t be a thing. Jackets that fit, on the other hand, are always in style.
Lily Collins in Prada
This chick’s lost her style mojo. There. We said it.
Meanwhile, Miss Nicole is nothing but style mojo, making things work that really shouldn’t.
Nicole Kidman (in Gabriela Hearst) and Timothée Chalamet
Why do people make stars of opposite gender always pose this way? It’s not as noticeable when it’s couples of roughly the same age, but when one of them is old enough to be the other’s parent, it just comes off really odd. We suspect they barely know each other, which makes it all the weirder. Anyway, from the 2/3 of her outfit we can see, it looks pretty great.
Olga Kurylenko in Elie Saab
You can’t accuse the gal of not dressing like it’s December.
Tilda Swinton in Chanel
Miss Tilda. In a LEFTOVERS post. Oh, kittens. This is a sad day.
We don’t care if that’s Chanel, it looks like something you clean in.
Diva Magnifica. Those colors look gorgeous.
