Miss Tracee sported something bright, bold, festive and shimmery for this party, managing to check off all the things we think a red carpet looks needs to be successful. She just forgot one part.
The part about picking a dress that’s actually pretty and looks great on you.
We have no doubt that this had a lot of life and movement to it; just as we have no doubt that Miss Tracess knows how to work a dress with a lot of life and movement. It’s quite possible she dazzled everyone who saw her that night. But in pictures, the lively affect, if there is one, seems to be greatly reduced. That may be “hibiscus liquid chiffon” but it photographs like Barbie’s Trash Bags. And it just looks like she tied a bunch of it on herself as a lark. In fact, if we picture her having a couple of glasses of Champagne before the party, getting a little tipsy with her stylist and laughingly tying some random scrap of fabric on herself before hooting “LOOK AT ME I MADE A DRESS! WOMAN OF THE YEAR HERE” and collapsing into laughter, we have a satisfying explanation. But it still doesn’t tell us why she actually left the house this way.
But hey, the hair and makeup look great. The color really sings on her. But the design is kind of ugly and the fabric simply doesn’t take a great picture. Get yourself a velvet column gown in this color and we’ll talk, Tracee.
