Sophie McShera and Lesley Nicol in New York, Promoting “Downton Abbey: The Exhibition

We thought it would be nice to check in on some old friends, darlings. Especially since said old friends look pretty fabulous.

What? We’re not shallow. Okay, yes we are.

The former Daisy and Mrs. Patmore are in town to promote “Downton Abbey: The Exhibition,” which is a thing we are dying to see. We got a chance to see a good deal of the costumes of Downton Abbey up close at a different exhibition (and you can read about it and see the pictures here, here and here), but this one is clearly more immersive and comprehensive. What can we say? We’re still super-fans. We named our cat after Sophie’s character, after all.

Anyway, they look great and we’re too full of good memories and good will to get nitpicky about their outfits. Which is good, because their outfits look great. Love Sophie’s boot/skirt action. We usually hate tricky hems like that, but given how downplayed the rest of her look is, it works. Love Leslie’s blue suede boots too.
