“Murder on the Orient Express” World Premiere Red Carpet Rundown

Posted on November 03, 2017

We gave Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley and Johnny Depp their own spotlight posts. Now it’s time to run down the rest of the cast/attendees, who didn’t manage looks nearly as notable.

Judy Dench

Although this is absolutely fine. It’s very much in her mode and she knows how to style and accessorize well for a look like this. The jewelry is fabulous. All that black isn’t going to photograph well, so some pops of lightness or color might have been welcome.

Lucy Boynton in Erdem

It’s pretty in that Erdem way, but the green ribbon is hellaciously distracting and the shoes are just plain hellacious.

Olivia Colman

LUV HUH. Can’t wait to see her as the Queen in season 3 of The Crown. She’s going to make such a great middle-aged Betty.

The dress is fine, but like Dame Judi’s getup, it was destined to photograph as a mass of black.

Penélope Cruz in Temperley London

She has a very unfussy approach to sexy glam. She picks fairly basic dresses that give her a lot of coverage, with one slit to work when she feels like showing a little skin. It works for her. We kind of like the blue beading on the cuffs and skirt, but the placement of it is distracting somehow. And the fit looks a little snug through the midsection.

Willem Dafoe

Our hate for Satan’s Neck Condom, aka, the humble turtleneck, is well documented. But even we have to admit he looks pretty great here. The dye job might be just a skosh too agressive, but the color looks good on him.
