We suppose with a film title like that, its star has no choice but to dress up in something festive. And bless his heart, Dan really tried to blend stylishness with Christmasness, which is never an easy thing to do. To his credit, the results are …
Mixed. At best. He managed a color scheme that fits perfectly for a Thanksgiving opening of a Christmas movie, which is fairly impressive in itself.
That’s a pretty fun suit, but the fit of the jacket is slightly off, which is not something you can afford with a slim plaid suit in bright colors. It seems to us that the shirt and tie choice are where this really falls down. The pale blue of the shirt adds nothing and the matching green of the tie is lazy. A white shirt and a tie in a darker shade of either the orange or the green of the suit; that’s what this calls for. The white shoes are a fun and unexpected choice, but they don’t really work. Brown, please.
Hunh. We’re honestly not sure how to take that. On the one hand, it’s Disneyfied Dickens, which is kind of ew. On the other hand, that is one hell of a cast.
