Normally, we’d be rolling our eyes at this dress, if we even paid any attention to it at all. What can we say? Black gowns and dresses on the red carpet are always going to recede to the background for us.
Almost always, that is.
It’s over-designed and we don’t really love it at all. But we skipped over a few of her recent public looks because we found her choices made her look fairly generic. We think she’s someone who needs looks with some sort of edge or twist to them. While we’d normally peg this sort of look as a bit of a cliche, we think it’s the sort of thing she should gravitate toward as much as possible. No, this exact dress isn’t really all that great, but this style is so much better for her than basic pretty-pretty. She needs some darkness and maybe even some weirdness to really pop. Even though she doesn’t look much like her, her style Patronus should be Winona Ryder circa 1994 or so. Get your gothy on, girl.
Oh, and we love your hair.
