This is going to sound incredibly nitpicky, but in some ways, this dress is a little too well-suited to Miss Carey.
It’s got that fussy, old-fashioned romantic, prim vibe to it that she tends to put across herself. But in that sense, it tends to turn the dials up on those qualities and tips her over into the land of twee and mumsy. She’d be better off staying away from puffy pink florals and this dress – which is admittedly a slightly weird dress – needs someone with a little more edge to work it. This isn’t a “girl, that’s not your dress” moment. It’s a “girl that’s too much your dress” one. Ship this one off to Alicia Vikander or Kristen Stewart, we’re thinking.
