Event honoree Ashley Judd attends the 11th Annual Hope For Depression Research Foundation HOPE luncheon in NYC. She also promoted her book “All That Is Bitter and Sweet: A Memoir.”
Miss Ashley has had what may turn out to be the most important months of her life, as she helped lead the charge to take down Harvey Weinstein, thereby setting off a domino effect of abuse allegations and abruptly halted if not forever ruined careers at the highest levels of the entertainment industry. The effects have continued to ripple outwards, into the worlds of media, art and politics. This is a watershed moment. Give it up for the woman; that’s a legacy that will outlive her lifetime. She made a difference.
And that’s why we know we’d be total assholes if we took this moment – especially considering where she is – and nitpicked her outfit. Fortunately, we only wanted to highlight what a great thing she’s done and then turn toward more comfortably frivolous matters by noting how much we like the slightly unusual print and color story on her dress. It’s a great, photogenic look that avoids looking too glamorous or frivolous.
