Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Pose for a Photo Call After Announcing Their Engagement

Posted on November 27, 2017

Here are where the words go about how Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle are officially engaged. Here is the part where we make some sort of witty introduction to the pictures; an introduction practically no one will bother reading because they’re all so darn excited and want to see the ring.

We wonder how long we can keep up this charade of writing an actual introduction to these photos? We suppose we could just ramble on and on about how exciting it is and how happy we are for the couple. We could also note the strangeness of the media spewing pictures of Charles’ and Diana’s wedding this morning, as if it too was some sort of royal wedding fairy tale when in fact the exact opposite was true. Or maybe we could just spread rumors (pardon us, rumours) about how future SIL Cathy hates her and is jealous of her hair (as you should be, gurl). Or perhaps we could offer conjecture about just what kind of title may be granted to the lovely couple upon their marriage. Personally, we think Princess Henry has a nice ring to it, although we suppose most women wouldn’t want to be saddled with the name “Henry” for the rest of their lives. We might even note the wisdom of picking a simple white coat to wear for the occasion, seeing as how her divorced status is a sticking point for some. Best to hammer that bridal purity image as quickly and subtly as you can.

But in the end, it doesn’t really matter what we think, as evidenced by the fact that 90% of the people who clicked on this post zoomed right past everything we just wrote. So without further ado, may we present the happy couple:

They look ridiculously happy, he looks more and more like his grandfather with each passing day, and we are LOVING that an American woman of color is going to be adding her genes to the British royal line.

You GO, you happy kids.
