Anne Hathaway at the benefit performance of “The Children’s Monologues” at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Miss Anne got back to her theater kid roots but made sure to dress like a star. Attagirl.
This looks great. Strong, photogenic, and flattering, but just understated enough for a benefit performance. A lot of the other performers dressed way down for this event, but Miss Lady has been a star too long to go half-assed for any public appearance. She threaded the needle pretty perfectly on this one. She looks polished and put-together in high-quality, high-fashion pieces, but it’s all relatively downplayed. We don’t have much time anymore for D&G’s highly repetitive “lacy Sicilian Catholicism” aesthetic, but this is one time and place were it worked beautifully.
