How freaking cute is this look?
Look, if she was going to brunch or hitting a conventional red carpet in this getup, we’d be having a discussion about proportions and editing. But she’s working a form of Funny Girl chic in her style of late, which combines high fashion with a vaguely clowny form of showmanship. It doesn’t always work, but that may just be a question of which settings make the best backdrop for it. In this case, at a polo classic hosted by a Champagne? She couldn’t possibly be more on point. Sure, the hat doesn’t really go with the rest of the look, and it all tends to evoke golf more than polo, but who cares? She’s serving up a little bit of Katherine Hepburn circa 1936 and she’s selling the hell out of it. Fun, colorful and cute. Nailed it.
