This past Fashion Week, we sat across from Miss Danielle at Christian Siriano’s runway show. It was the first time we’d seen her in person and darlings, that girl glows. She’s got real star quality and she’s incredibly striking in person. She was sitting next to Leslie Jones, who tends to suck up all the oxygen in a room, but we couldn’t take our eyes off her.
Which tends to render a lot of her red carpetry disappointing in context. Having seen her in person, we don’t think she’s quite managed to maximize her red carpetry to its best effect.

To be fair, this is totally good-on-paper. Love the shape/style for her, and the color looks amazing. Maybe the black pumps weren’t the most exciting choice in the world, but it was something of a business-like event, so it makes a certain amount of sense. The problem is that a satiny coat dress is simply never going to show up on a step-and-repeat looking fresh as a daisy and picture-ready. It doesn’t help that the finishing/fit aren’t so hot.

We’ll give her this: She definitely works the seasonal color better than a whole lot of other celeb-gals. Girlfriend’s clearly in an autumn kinda mood.
This isn’t going to win any design competitions, but it’s cute, sexy and looks great on her. The choice of black pumps bug once again. Bronze sandals would’ve been perfect. And we’re not sure which way to go on this, but we definitely think a piece of statement jewelry would be a big help. Hoops would be our first choice, but a cocktail ring might work too. Some day, brooches will lose their granny undertones and become chic again, darlings. It is on that day that we will feel comfortable recommending them (because this dress pretty much screams for one).
