Style File: Alicia Vikander Manages the Surprising in Louis Vuitton

Posted on October 04, 2017

We were all set to write another post about her along the lines of “Lady Dull of Dullsville Manor once again wears cray clothes that do nothing to make her more exciting.

We know. So bitchy.

But Miss Alicia got the final laugh, because Louis Vuitton did …. well, not exactly “right by her.” They… managed to avoid some disasters; first by giving her an interesting premiere gown and then following that up with a surprisingly semi-cute Paris Fashion Week lewk.

Noncommittal bitchery! It’s all kind of/sort of not terrible for Miss Alicia this week! Let’s examine.

Alicia Vikander attends the “Euphoria” premiere during the 2017 Zurich Film Festival in Zurich, Switzerland in Louis Vuitton.

Before you voice your objections, please scroll up to note that the only compliment we paid this gown was that it was “interesting.” Which it is, to our eyes. It’s too upholstery-like for us to love it. Plus the style’s kind of mumsy and the length is awkward. But the slightly unusual color story really works well for her, and the fabric blocking helps it to feel just a bit more modern. It turned our heads, is what we’re saying. It’s not gorgeous, and definitely not perfect, but it raised the eyebrows of these two bitches, if only for a moment.

Consider that a victory, Alicia darling.

Now hear us out. Of course all of these items look awkward together. We haven’t completely lost our minds, kittens. But – and this is the surprising part – they’re all kind of cute separately. We still haven’t completely come around on the lace-up heeled boots, but Ruth Negga made us a believer for a brief moment and now we’re attempting to give them a reconsideration. The skirt’s definitely cute, as is the bag. We’re not entirely convinced on the top, but we can see how it might have some possibilities if you give it a little room to breathe.

Basically, it’s a typically overstyled LV look put together with some atypically cute pieces.
