January Jones in Bottega Veneta at the Hammer Museum Gala: IN or OUT?

Posted on October 16, 2017

Enough foreplay, darlings. We did our best to ease you into your Monday/make you forget about the world by showing you a succession of pretty things to look at, but at some point, we’re just all going to have to face reality. At some point, we all have to hold hands and jump off that cliff together.

And by that we mean we’re going to show you a somewhat… less-than-pretty look. Possibly. We’re just trying to let you down gently. Scroll down with care and caution, kittens.

Yeah. We tried to tell you.

For some reason, Miss January has opted to hit the step-and-repeat dressed like an awkward schoolgirl during World War II. We confess, we’re unsure as to why. Maybe someone told her she had a knack for working retro looks and she decided to see how far she could take it.

We keep trying to find a silver lining here, but we really hate the bodice of that dress and don’t see a way around it. In fact, we’re starting to wonder if the awful hair and the socks were a way to balance out the goofy dress. Maybe she just figured she should lean into the goofy.

But maybe we’re being short-sighted here. We’re big fans of Nerdy Chic. We just don’t think this iteration works at all. Here’s your chance to make a rebuttal:

January Jones’ Retro Nerdery:

IN or OUT?

We look forward to vigorous debate, kittens.
