Dolls, on a week like this one; a week that ends with a massive pile of leftovers to plow through (figuratively speaking), you can bet that at least some of these folks can’t be accused of being mediocre. The quality level of the leftovers tends to go up the more we have to choose from.
Not that we’re going soft here or anything. Don’t you worry about that. We got our bitchpants on so let’s get down with it.
Cara Buono in Cristina Ottaviano
Pretty gorgeous, actually. Not a thing to criticize.
We’re off to a terrible start.
Oh, good. Hideous colors. This, we can work with. She looks like an ’80s bathroom came to life and walked away. To be fair, we think we might have liked this if the color scheme wasn’t so eye-searing.
Emmy Rossum in Rochas
Plainly pretty. Not meant in a backhanded way. The color looks great but the shape’s a bit dull. Doesn’t matter because the venue didn’t call for attention-seeking.
Isabel Moner in John Paul Ataker
She’s a floor model at a mini-blinds convention.
It’s not setting us on fire, but it works. It’s not the right kind of suit to go sockless, though.
Julianne Moore in Saint Laurent
We feel like we’ve seen her in this exact look a thousand times before. Give or take.
Kate Hudson in Ezgi Cinar
That’s a lot of velvet. We don’t mind it, but it comes off more like luxurious loungewear.
La La Anthony in Rani Zakhem
Not much to argue with here.
Laverne Cox in Victoria Hayes
Meh. It’s fine, but we don’t love the collar, color, or sleeves.
She always dresses weird. And not in the good way.
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
We may get in trouble for saying this, but she’s getting a little old to be working these “broken-down doll” looks. The dress is annoying, the bag is twee and the shoes are kind of awkward.
Pajama suit. To be frank, the pink makes it look a little cheap.
Princess Charlene of Monaco in Ralph Lauren
Pretty damn flawless.
Rashida Jones in Erdem
Everything but those dumb ribbons looks great.
What a bizarrely unbalanced look. Nothing goes with anything else.
Ruby Rose in Victoria Beckham
Sadie Sink in Chanel
Super cute and classically chic. This is closer to how Millie Bobby Brown should be dressing.
Syvia Hoeks (in Loewe), Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas (in Giambattista Valli Couture) and Denis Villeneuve
Ford looks bored, as per the uzh, and the ladies are once again absurdly over-dressed.
More to come in Part TWO, darlings.
