Elizabeth Debicki Attends the “Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami” UK Premiere in London.
Y’know, if you’d really taken this as far as you could have, you might have wound up with a uniquely chic look, Miss Elizabeth.
It’s almost there, but you can’t seem to decide if you’re doing Leia cosplay, Rey cosplay or Luke cosplay. We suppose that’s part of why it almost works – because it’s really only a coincidence that it looks so very Star Wars.
We love the coat. The dress is okay, but the hip panels are odd and opening it up to show off the bra is a really weird choice, simply because the style doesn’t call for it. The boots and bag feel totally wrong to us. The black accents are too harsh. If she’d really leaned into the more naturalistic white and brown tones with her accessories this might have looked less jarring.
But really, we’re overthinking it. It’s a nice coat and everything else is kind of standard or poorly chosen. Strange, because she’s usually so good about her red carpetry. Lady, button that dress up, put on a pair of slouchy beige suede boots and grab a big white envelope clutch to finish it off. Cinnamon bun hair optional, but recommended.
