These two wowed us all with their particular brand of international drop-dead chicness when they first got married, only to have their subsequent red carpet appearances to be hit-or-miss. And if we’re being blunt, it was a bit more of the latter than the former.
But we really love these looks, and we think part of the reason why is that it reminds us of the sort of breezy, effortless chicness they both managed at the time of their wedding:
But let’s be clear here: there are some quibbles to be had. First, we hate that ruffle running around the bust and the back of her dress. We also aren’t in love with George’s black shirt – not with that suit – and cringe at the second undone button, which will never not look sleazy with a dress shirt and standard suiting.
But we love her styling and the print on her dress is chic and photogenic. He’d be better in a lighter shirt with one button undone, but for the most part, he makes a good accompaniment to her look. They’re not going to make any best-dressed lists with these getups, but we think these looks work for them.
