A study in style contrasts. First up: Good Kate:
Kate Winslet on “Good Morning America” in NYC.
Or maybe Fun Kate. Or Real Kate. All we know is, this is the Kate we love seeing, and while there’s nothing remotely fashion-forward or high-chic about this look, it nonetheless suits her perfectly and makes her look comfortable, confident, and full of personality. There’s no reason she or her stylist couldn’t take most of the basic elements of this look and scale it up for red carpet events.
Instead, she always goes this route:
Kate Winslet attends a special screening of “The Mountain Between Us” in New York City.
Meh. It’s fine. She’s presentable. Appropriate. Tasteful, even. But this is all she ever does on the RC: solid-colored (but mostly neutral) body-con dresses; usually sleeveless. It’s a work-a-day sort of red carpet approach that ensures she always looks attractive enough, but never truly gets across how gorgeous and full of life she can be when she’s in her element.
