Kendall Jenner receives her “Fashion Icon of the Decade” award at the 2017 Daily Front Row Awards in New York.
We just want to insert the Mean Girls “She doesn’t even go here” gif and be done with it. But alas, words must be written. Words like “alas.”
Honestly? Who cares? It’s a fairly meaningless award both in the grand scheme of things and in the fashion world. We could rag on Front Row Daily for making the choice, but everyone knows it’s a PR game. There’s no international committee deciding on these things. She has as much right to claim a “Fashion Icon of the Decade” award as anyone else does allowing themselves to be named “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” or “World’s Sexiest Man.” It moves magazine issues and fires up social media. But we’re going to go out on a limb here and suggest that at no point in her life, will this reward be referred to on a regular basis. And in some very far-away day, after she’s lived a long life and left behind this world for a greater one, perhaps without Instagram or Pepsi, we can say with some certainty that this award will neither be mentioned in her obituaries or put on her tombstone.
In other news, girl can’t model to save her life and she’s really morphing into a Kris clone early, isn’t she?
The dress is whatever. It’s all about that necklace.
