We’re back, kittens! Sorry for the unannounced day off, but our twitter peeps know that Tom had a weensy little bit of non-critical surgery this week and we needed a day to recover from it. He’s fine. We’re fine. Everything’s fine. Also: pain meds should make for some interesting posts over the next couple days.
ANYWAY, we hate using our lovely site to talk about ourselves (no, really), so let’s get down to the hard work of talking about other people; specifically, famous people in expensive clothing.
Are we crazy to love this? We keep thinking that there are obvious reasons why we shouldn’t, but when we try to articulate them, they don’t seem to amount to much. It’s too shiny and ruffly, but then again, that would seem to be the point of the design. It’s a slightly glam take on a fairly standard set of party dress elements. It’s working in an ’80s-retro way, which is perfect for her, since she was not only built to wear mid-Century styles, but also has the right look for slightly silly looks from the Dynasty era. And she’s one of the few celeb-ladies who managed to make those multi-strapped Mary Jane-style pumps work. We might have wanted a little more zhuzh to the hair, but otherwise, this all works really well for her.
