Jane Fonda Serves Grande Dame in Dior Couture at the “Our Souls at Night” Premiere

The more we look at this, the more we really love it on her:

At first glance, we were ready to declare it kind of fusty and dishwater-gray in tone. And to be fair, even after further examination, we’re not a hundred percent on this color for her. But the matchy red accessories – especially that pendant – are doing amazing work lifting this whole look up to something dramatic and declarative. We don’t mind so much that the blouse is sheer (and more power to her for getting her visible-bra action on in a way that doesn’t come across try-hard), but it’s kind of flimsy and limp compared to the skirt, which get more fantastic the longer we look at it. Not super-crazy about the belt, either, but the parts we like tend to make up for the parts we don’t.

Why don’t ladies were more pendants on the red carpet? It’s such a great way to define a look and yet most stylists seem to wave their clientele away from them.
