Because it’s Monday morning. Because the world is dark and full of terrors. Because everyone should start their day/week/life with a smile.
And also because it’s fucking fabulous:
You heard us. If Jagger wore this in 1967, it would have been hailed as one of the high points of 20th Century menswear. People will point and laugh at this, but we’d much rather celebrate it. It’s perhaps just a bit too 1%-er in price point to be considered a hundred percent rock-and-roll in tone, but at the very least, it’s a modern tip of the hat to the more effete moments in rock and pop style history and a reminder that we don’t have to keep putting men in the same dreary work-a-day looks.
Style critique, if we must make one: the shape of the pants is not to his benefit. He’d have been better in a slimmer cut. When he wears men’s suiting, he tends to wear it large, in a vaguely David Byrne style. We wish he’d get over it.
