Style File: Rebecca Hall Brings Her Quirks to the Venice Film Festival

Posted on August 31, 2017

Miss Rebecca brought her particular brand of breezy weirdness to the Venice Film Festival red carpets, and she’s managed to unleash two particularly notable looks in just the first day.

Is it us, or are red sandals a total needle scratch with this dress. They’re not awful, but our first – and only – response was “Really? Those?” The dress is trying hard to be interesting. We think it mostly succeeds. There’s a nice balance between the conventional prints and the slightly unconventional shape. But it seems to get just a little complicated around her waist.

Did she rub a balloon on her head before she walked out?

How can you stand there in all those sequins and paillettes, with a ridiculous peacock tail of tulle slapping you in the face, with hair that looks like you just got out of bed? Did her makeup artist arrive and her hair person get stuck in customs or something? Do they not sell coconut oil or hair serum in Venice?

As for the dress, that fan is just silly. The rest of it’s kind of fun, though.
