Generally speaking, we love women in men’s suiting when it’s clearly womenswear inspired by menswear and not literally menswear. Assuming we’re not talking about drag kings or people not on the gender binary, in which cases the opinions of a couple of red carpet bloggers don’t amount to much. But for the average celeb gal hitting the red carpet in a suit, we tend to look for ways in which it’s been interpreted or altered to make a point.
This is a look we’d consider too literal normally. Aside from the fullness of the pants – which is a great interpretation that pushes this towards a formality it wouldn’t have otherwise – this is all quite straightforward men’s suiting on a woman’s body. It’s difficult to judge the fit, given the way she’s standing, but it looks to us like the vest could’ve been tailored a bit better.
But aside from that – and a general sloppiness – we have no complaints. Yes, it’s literal, but if there’s a cisgender straight lady out there born to work a slightly butched-up look like this one, it’s Pink.
It suits her, in other words. Pun unintended. No, really.
