Kittens, it may come as a surprise, given our choice of career, that we have very little interest in attending most celebrity-filled events – NY Fashion Week aside, of course. But if you told us you could get us into … we don’t know, the Oscars after-party, in all honesty, we wouldn’t jump at the chance to go. There are various reasons for that: celebs don’t like bloggers and we can’t do our job effectively if we spend our off-time schmoozing and air-kissing them, mostly.
Why are we bringing this up? Because every year, when we watch the stars pull up to the Venice Film Festival in a boat, while (hopefully) sporting fabulous Euro-tinged summer-wear and gorgeous sunglasses, it’s the one time we sigh at the sight of a celebrity back-patting event and think “I want to go to there.”
But we promise we won’t be filled with jealousy and lash out at the attendees.
Just kidding. She looks pretty great. It’s a lovely dress, but the shoes look a little silly with it, we have to say.
Personally, if we were her assistants, we’d push her to keep the shades on, both for maximum movie star effect and also to prevent that sort of befuddled look people get when they’re standing in daylight and posing for pictures. Much simpler sandals were called for her – although we suppose we should be grateful she didn’t pick the uber-ubiquitous (say that 5 times) Nudist sandal.
