We can’t quite seem to put our finger on it; on what’s not working here:
Not her dress?
Yes, we think that’s it. It’s not a bad dress, necessarily, although we think the hem has almost no relation to the top half. Certainly a bold floral on a black background isn’t new, but there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be working for her. And maybe you disagree and think this is all working like gangbusters. But there’s a level of fussiness here that doesn’t seem like her. A more conventional hem, a less cartoonish clutch and a slightly more playful pair of shoes might be the way for her to go for this look.
