Style File: Yara Shahidi Switches Things Up

Miss Yara had herself a pretty good style week, but then again, we’re not sure she ever had anything but a pretty good style week. It’s like she came to us as a fully formed fashionista. This week, she got to show off her abilities at switching up her look. Let’s assess.

ADORABLE and on-point hi-lo. She can work a fussy blouse. Our only issue is with the shoe choice. They look pretty fab, but the wide leg and the pointy toe aren’t all that great a combo, proportionally speaking. LOVING the hair and eye makeup.

Here, Miss Yara is serving up Fashion Editor realness. The top and pants strike us as potentially being a little sober and mature for her, but the styling here really pulls it together. The hair and shoes bump the look up into something much more glam and red-carpet-ready, while the frames make a nice accompaniment to the relative minimalism of the pieces and coordinated fantastically with the jewelry. It’s all deceptively simple but really well done.
