And no, that statement is not “I’m doing Miley Cyrus cosplay except with a crazier look in my eyes.”
Girl. Come on, now. You’ve been a pop star how long? And you’re still turning around to show people your mic’s battery pack?
The dress is fine. The message is kind of muddled and precious in its presentation (making it oh-so Stella) and the design just comes off like Moschino-lite (which makes it a strange choice for her, given her long relationship with that brand), but it’s a work-a-day version of the kind of thing she goes for of late. It’s just that this look is not doing a thing for her; not aesthetically and definitely not from an image-management perspective. Everything about this look comes off a bit goofy and derivative. We realize it’s just a day-appearance for a radio show, but this whole Miley thing has been going on a while and we haven’t come across anyone who thinks it’s a good idea for her.
Katy, you can’t grow it out overnight, so may we suggest you dye it orange or something? Wouldn’t you much rather people accuse you of ripping off Annie Lennox’s classic look than ripping off Miley Freaking Cyrus’s? Also, fire the person who applied your makeup this morning. They gave you crazyface.
And speaking of crazy, are we nuts for liking the shoes?
